In Oregon the IME can refuse any recording of the exam or for that matter a witness being present. They do though have to give you a written explaination as to why. Make sure you get this before continuing the exam or else you'll never see it. I was told when they refused a tape recording that my doing so "would make the doctor uncomfortable". Considering he pergured himself in a court deposition I can see why. There's cases where woman have been sexually assaulted and Oregon government did nothing about it. I have to believe that there's a place in the darkest reaches of Hell where IME's end up. I can just picture them and the insurance adjusters debating there over who "destroyed more lives" in their personal pursuit of the almighty buck.
