I find it really strange that the media hasn't been all over the terrible things happening to workers after their injured. I live near Salem and was thrilled when the front page article appeared last Monday. I hope they follow up on this since our paper has always been more willing to go up against big industry and government and be on the side of the average Oregonian than papers like the Oregonian. I've noticed that the Oregonian will support ballot measures that are very antipeople. It's like every decision they make in what to publish is based on scurrying favor from potential advertisers instead of being the voice of the people. Just because they have a monopoly doesn't mean they should lose touch with the basic foundatation that the media exist to inform the public of newsworthy events. Thank you Statesman Journal for upholding your duty to the public.
