We do face a problem in this state because of a weak
OSHA and a supremely employer/insurer favorable
workers comp law. The legislature substantially reduced
the cost of doing unsafe business in 1990 and 1995
by making it harder for claimants to win workers
compensation. Fewer winning claims means less insurance
costs, But it also means employers skimp on safety
because know that they can get by with it. Saif Corp
claims to have programs to help companies with
safety issues if they are reducing premiums how can
they have the money to support these programs.
Also OSHA too has these programs but these so-called
programs never helped me. All the workers in this
state are suffering because of there premium cuts
They don't have the money to back-up these programs.
Saif has reached a paradox There are losing money
and because of this loss more claims are being
denied. did you all know that saif approached the
state Of Oregon in 1995 and said that they were
broke and then all of the sudden they happen to
find 48 million dollars, is this the workers comp
system we need in this state. Look at the money
that is being thrown to help the salmon population
in this state when workers and their families are
suffering because of our Workers Compensation System.
